Table of Contents

The Squallreaver is an ancient avian apex predator mutated by perpetual exposure to chaos tornadoes. Residing in the highest hollows of the Deepwood, its wings beat with gale force winds capable of uprooting ancient redwoods and deflecting physical arrows.
The Squallreaver guards the transition between the introductory Meadows and the deeper elemental regions of Sorana. Defeating it is required to absorb the Squallreaver Crest of Mastery.
Recommended Gear & Team Roles
Solo Player Recommended Setup
- Weapons: Copper Broadsword + Runed Tower Shield, Meadow Recurve Bow (with 40+ Fire Arrows).
- Armor: Reinforced Hardwood or Studded Leather.
- Consumables: 5x Stamina Brews, 3x Herbal Cleansing Poultices.
Multiplayer (2 to 8 Players) Roles
- Vanguard Tank: Holds boss aggro at center arena; blocks wing sweeps with Bulwark Stance.
- Marksman / Caster DPS: Renders ranged fire damage; dedicated to destroying the floating arena Storm Core Crystal.
- Scout / Flanker: Calls out tornado paths in Phase 2 and revives downed allies using glider jumps.
Phase 1: Ground Skirmish (100% - 60% Health)
During Phase 1, the Squallreaver remains primarily grounded or hovers at low altitudes. Its primary offensive tools are wide physical sweeps with its talons and wings:
- Positioning: Stay near its hind legs. Attacking its tail feathers allows you to avoid 80% of its frontal beak bites.
- Quill Barrage: When it flaps furiously in place, immediately seek line of sight cover behind the granite pillars in the arena.
Phase 2: Aerial Tempest & Tornadoes (60% - 0% Health)
At 60% health, the Squallreaver screeches and takes to the skies, initiating the apex storm phase:
- Twin Tracking Tornadoes: The boss summons two localized tornadoes that actively chase players. Do not run in straight lines. Deploy your glider into the outer arena updrafts to stay airborne until the vortexes dissipate.
- Shatter the Arena Core: A floating storm crystal appears above the center pillar. One player must shoot it with arrows. Shattering it immediately cancels the wind suction debuff.
- Capitalizing on Sky-Shatter Dive: When the boss prepares to dive, watch for the red targeting circle on the ground. Sprint-dodge right before impact. The boss crashes and remains stunned on the ground for 5 seconds—unleash all Ultimate abilities during this window!
